I am so effing stoked for this weekend. Starting tonight with the un-fuckwithable INNUMERABLE FORMS show with Montreal hardcore punkers NAUGHTY GIRLS and Austin juggernaut MAMMOTH GRINDER!!! opening the show is LONGPIGS, who rip. Now I know there's some other death metal show tonight, but this one is the one to be at, hands down. No bald old fat dudes with bad breath sucking up the air. just pure, unadulterated brutality.
And as if that's not enough, Minneapolis metal-crusters COGNITIVE DISSONANCE crush the apocalytic wastes on Friday night, alongside DODWORTH, THE CREDENTIALS, and NEW CREASES. Plus, it's Chloe Puke's Birthday, so come party!
Saturday the 31st we celebrate the release of GHASTLY CITY SLEEP's new LP with a killer indie lineup featuring heart-wrenching songstress IVANA XL, Detroit indie-soul sensations THE SUMMER PLEDGE, and lo-fi fruit-wearer LOST BOY. And be careful, the block will be hosting a water-balloon bbq all day, so the likelihood of aquatic assault is real!
Finally, Sunday brings Atlanta post-hardcore monsters GRAY GHOST and their own sludgy, chaotic madness to our stage. Bandmates UNREAL CITY and New Jersey hardcore bruisers OMINOUS ORDER OF FILTHY MONGRELS fill out the bill. crushing riffs and maddening blasts are the order of the day.
Can't wait. The gray ghost thing is crushing AND good.
